For American Heart Month, Mrs. Queen's anatomy students at PSHS took on an extra project! They made a tree of hearts! In teams, they labeled the different parts and flows of the heart.

LEANNA BOCCIERI - WKBN/WYTV STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | Poland senior Leanna Boccieri shows what it means to be a true student-athlete playing three different sports while owning a 3.9 GPA. Congratulations, Leanna!

Mrs. Pecchia and Mrs. Vagas's Bulldogs are published authors! The Bulldogs spend time thinking about techniques people can use to stay calm and relaxed, and they wrote and illustrated their best advice in a book! Timmy, Trevor, TJ, Quintino, and Connor all had a special page in the book with their tips and tricks! And for literal icing on the cake, it was Timmy's birthday the day he became a published author! Happy Birthday, Timmy! 

FRESHMAN ORIENTATION | Thursday, February 19, 5:30 p.m | There will be a PSHS orientation meeting for current eighth-graders and their families held in the PSHS Auditorium. Counselors will be present to inform upcoming freshmen about attending PSHS! Welcome to Poland Seminary High School, Bulldogs!

The Poland Seminary High School National Honor Society Chapter will host its 2026 ceremony on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 7 p.m. in the PSHS Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

 The Poland High School Athletic Department will hold its Spring Sports Parent Meeting on Monday, February 23rd at 6:00 PM in the Poland High School Auditorium. This meeting is for parents and guardians of all student-athletes participating in spring sports, including middle school track. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend, as important policies, procedures, and expectations for the upcoming spring season will be reviewed. Student athletes are not required to attend.

PSHS CHEER | There will be an informational meeting in the Poland Seminary High School Cafeteria on March 3, 2026 at 6 p.m. This meeting is for any cheerleader candidates and parents interested in tryout requirements and dates.

TO STATE! Congratulations to the 2026 PSHS Cheer team on qualifying for the OASSA State Cheer Championship February 20-22, 2026. LET'S GO, DOGS!

The PSHS Interact Club recognizes one staff member each month who goes above and beyond in making a positive impact on Poland students. The January 2026 staff members of the month are Mrs. Calderon, Mr. Morocco, and Mr. Vagas (not pictured) - PSHS Guidance Counselors. Thank you, PSHS Guidance, for everything you do for the students, staff, and community each and every day!

Poland Local Schools is seeking an Athletic Administrator for grades 7–12 to oversee and lead the district’s interscholastic athletic programs while working collaboratively with school administration.

Over 30 Poland Seminary High School student musicians participated at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 5 Solo & Ensemble on January 24, 2026. Overall, students representing PSHS earned 14 Superior (I) ratings and 3 Excellent (II) ratings from judges. Congratulations to all Bulldogs and their directors, Mr. Jeff Hvizdos, Mr. Jeff Penney, and Mr. Matt Hayes on their successes and talents while representing the district!

Eleven Poland Seminary High School student artists were honored at the Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition on January 24, 2026. Poland Seminary High School students earned 2 silver keys and 13 honorable mentions. PSHS Senior Zoe Baird earned a silver key with "Sunday Morning Coming Down." Junior Ashlynn Kushner earned a silver key with her drawing "Wings of a Macaw." Congratulations to all of the student artists and Mrs. Sue Holub for their successes and talents while representing the district.

The PSHS Varsity Quizbowl team has started the season undefeated, securing four victories! At the matchup against Columbiana on January 14, Senior Douglas Stoudt Jr. led the team to victory with a correct answer on the final toss-up. The game was tied, and Douglas knew his early literature! The Varsity team along with Junior Varsity members practice weekly with matches on Wednesday leading up to the league tournament on February 28 at Columbiana High School. LET'S GO, DOGS!

Poland Seminary High School has earned a BRONZE on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2024-2025 school year! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students and maximizing college readiness. Congratulations and thank you to our PSHS Guidance Department, teachers of AP courses, and students taking AP courses!

Poland Girls Wrestler Ella Thomas captured her 100th career victory at the Austintown Fitch Girls Wrestling Tournament in early January. The junior currently has a record of 28-3 in the 100 lbs. weight class. | PSHS Junior Ella Thomas and Coach Beadle in a great feature by WKBN. LET'S GO, ELLA!

BULLDOGS ART GALLERY - January 2026 Update | Art decorates the halls at Poland Local Schools! Creativity is unleashed this month, featuring the awesome stamp project by our sixth grade students, vibrant tempera, and a serene focus on nature's beauty by high school students!

The culinary artists of Poland Seminary High School participate in a friendly cake bake-off in Ms. Walsh's classroom! Basing their designs around the selected Holiday theme, the teams planned, delegated, and baked appetizing and artful treats in less than two hours! Ready your appetite for the smiles, laughter, and fun in the great cake bake-off!
