At its meeting last week, the board seemed to favor a four-school, two-campus model using existing buildings. “We are not going after a new building,” Poland Superintendent Craig Hockenberry said.

Welcome, 2024 Poland Board of Education! At the Organizational Meeting on January 10, Mr. Gregg Riddle and Mr. Jeff Sabrin took the oath of office to officially join the 2024 Board of Education. Mr. Larry Warren renewed his oath. Dr. Larry Dinopoulos will serve as Board President and Mr. Warren will serve as Board Vice President. You can view the Organizational Meeting here:

The Poland Board of Education approved a resolution to Proceed with the Submission of the Electors of the School District of the Question of the Renewal of an Existing Tax Levy, Pursuant to Sections 5705.194 to 5705.197 of the Revised Code. (#2023-105)

Poland Local School District has submitted the FY2024 Fall Five Year Forecast. It is available to be viewed on the Ohio Department of Education Reports Portal.

The Poland Board of Education approved a resolution determining to Submit to the Electors of the School District the Question of the Renewal of an Existing Tax Levy Pursuant to Sections 5705.03 and 5705.194 to 5705.197 of the Revised Code. (#2023-97)
The resolution approved is the first of two resolutions required to place the renewal on the ballot. Poland Local School District voters last approved the levy’s renewal in 2018. It generates $1,068,055 each calendar year for five years for the purpose of providing for the emergency requirements of the district.
The Board of Education has not taken action to submit a new levy or bond to fund new school buildings. The Board of Education will meet on Wednesday, December 6 for a work session to discuss the facilities master plan.
